The 32nd edition of the Women’s day was celebrated this year on the theme, "Women in a changing world of work: Planet 50-50 by 2030".

At the Ministry of Justice, various activities marked this year’s festivities. Prior to the celebration of the Women’s Day, the Social Affairs Unit organized a conference on the theme “Gender and MDGs, United Nations’ action for Women; Women, Labour and Domestic Life”. This was animated by the panelists, Mrs Djessi Ndine épe Zibi Nose, Mrs Banounoui Batende Annie and Mr Kotcholi Moise. More so, on Monday 6th March 2017, was scheduled a general cleaning session of the Ministry by the ladies of the Ministry of the administration. 

The activities culminated to the march past at the Boulevard du 20 mai and a reception afterwards at the backyard of the Ministry, offered by the Minister of State, Minister of Justice,  Keeper of the Seals, Laurent Esso in honour of his female collaborators. The Minister Delegate to the Minister of Justice, Pr. Jean Pierre Fogui represented the Minister of State and was assisted in this task by the Secretary of State in Charge of Penitentiary Administration, DOOH Jerome Penbaga, the secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, George Gwanmesia, and the two inspector generals, Mrs Essomba Josette Ripault of the Judiciary Services and Mrs Haman Ngoungou Nsangou of the Pentitentiary Services. His Excellency Jean Pierre Fogui alked a lot about the situation of women in our society and encouraged women to struggle for the respect of their rights. He also motivated them to encourage other women initiative instead of fighting each other. He called on men to support the women’s plight and boosted them to pursue their dreams.
